THE OLDIES BAND
MUSIC TO REMEMBER
WE NEVER FORGET
Steve Erickson – Lead and Guitar
Karen Beals - Alto
Karen has been a professional vocalist in one genre or another for most of her adult life. During the 90's, she sang with an Italian wedding band from Northern New Jersey, called "Le Nouve Anime". The group performed regularly at parties and festivals in the tri-state area, including the Italian Feast in Wilmington Delaware, and the San Genaro Feast in Manhattan. Dabbling in Jazz for a while Karen performed in clubs and restaurants, with Jazz Guitarist Steve Raleigh and pianist Dave Meyers. She also appeared with "The NY Swing Machine" for New Years Eve 1999. At that point, Karen put music aside for a while to accept a position on "The Woodman In The Morning Show" on k-104 Radio in Poughkeepsie, NY. But music kept calling her back so she joined a rock band called 337, to sow some of her wild oats. At the same time she also joined an all girls oldies group called "The Ponytails" ("Born Too Late"). This offshoot of the original group performed with such notables as "The Teenagers", "The Del Vikings". and "The Belmonts". Karen is now delighted to join "Memories Of You", to continue performing the music of the fabulous 50's.
